In the early days, Captains either built or assisted in the building of their vessels. Boats were built at water's edge for launching. C.C. (Lum) Thompson built many of Destin's fleet fishing boats. The include: The Capt. Bernie, Marathon, Barbara Ann, Miss Julene Reveille and Mystery to name a few.
